A slinky waterside weasel whose tracks bound along the mud at the edge of everything.

1–1.5 in. Five toes, star-shaped spread. Paired bounding prints. Always near water's edge. Slides in snow and mud.

Streams, marshes, lake shores. Most of North America.

Nocturnal and crepuscular

Fish, crayfish, muskrats, frogs, birds

Mink will cache extra prey in a bankside den for later.
