Cervus canadensis
Between deer and moose in size, with a rounder, blunter hoof print.
3.5–4.5 in long. Cloven hoof, rounded tips. Blunter and wider than a deer track. Herd trails with many overlapping prints. Dewclaws show when running.
Mountain meadows, aspen and conifer forest, foothills. Rocky Mountains, Pacific Northwest, reintroduced in eastern states.
