The biggest deer on earth. Its splayed cloven track is bigger than your hand.
4.5–7 in long. Two large pointed halves (cloven). Much bigger than deer or elk. Dewclaws often print in mud or snow. Deep, punched-in impressions.
Boreal forest, willow flats, bogs, lakeshores. Alaska, Canada, northern U.S. and the Rockies.

Moose dive up to 18 feet underwater for pond plants.
Should I be concerned?
More people are hurt by moose than bears. Give them huge space, especially cows with calves in spring.
