About
Dainty, furry-footed and precise. Fox prints often look slightly blurred because of the hair between the toes.
Track
1.75–2.5 in long. Four toes with fine claw marks. Fur can soften the outline of the pads. Chevron-shaped heel pad bar. Nearly perfect straight-line trail.
Where they live
Meadows, hedgerows, dunes, woodlands, city parks. Widest range of any wild carnivore — most of the Northern Hemisphere.

Mostly nocturnal and crepuscular

Voles, rabbits, birds, beetles, berries
