Track

Hind 1.5–2 in. Same bounding four-print pattern as gray squirrels, smaller. Trails between conifers and middens. Cone-scale midden piles nearby. Prints often on top of snow.

Spruce, fir and pine forest. Canada, northern and mountainous U.S..
